2016 Celma Mastry One step Closer to the Cure Race
I was lucky to have met the daughter of Celma Mastry one day when I was working part time in retail. I was helping her in the store and she got to talking about the Celma Mastry Ovarian Cancer Foundation that her mother had founded once she was diagnosed with this “silent killer.” They are always looking for volunteers so she gave me her card and I told her I could pass her info along to student organizations on campus.
About 6 months later I ran across her card and remembered that they had their annual race fundraiser coming up so I reached out to see if they had anyone to create a video of the event. After some emailing, I met most of the board and was able to create some promo videos and an event recap for them.
The atmosphere of the race has such a positive and hopeful vibe where families and friends come together to bring awareness and raise money for the victims of ovarian cancer. It was a beautiful day and it was truly an inspiring event to shoot.
